Basic details of maintenance required for flexible cables

Flexible cables are products closely related to industrial equipment and are an indispensable source of energy for industrial equipment activities. The life of the cable depends on the quality of the cable and the natural environment in which the cable is installed. Therefore, there are some basic details that must be maintained for flexible cables:

1. After the flexible cable has been working for a period of time, regularly check the outer sheath of the cable to see if there are any signs of damage. If necessary, replace it immediately.

2. Prevent the flexible cable from getting damp, being hot, being corroded or being damaged. Try to avoid such unfriendly environments when using flexible cables.

3. Do not overload the flexible cable to prevent accidents caused by excessive fatigue.

4. Nowadays, flexible cables are widely used. Some problems may occur during operation. The most common problem is that the copper wire of the flexible cable will turn black. This is a common phenomenon, not that the cable cannot be fully used. Check the application status of the equipment and lines for a long time. If problems are found, maintenance and repair can be carried out in time.

5. Clean the dust on the surface of the insulation tube regularly. The frequency of cleaning should be increased accordingly in areas with serious pollution.

6. The inner sheath of the flexible cable is prone to fatigue and cracking damage when subjected to large forces and vibrations, which has a great impact on the use of the cable.

7. If the flexible cable or protective tube is damaged, or if the cable installation auxiliary equipment is insufficient, it should be repaired in time. If the surface has fallen off by more than 40% or the armored cable layer has been exposed to rust, it is necessary to apply anti-corrosion paint for comprehensive protection.

8. If the metal sheath of the flexible cable has cracks, splits, corrosion and other conditions, temporary treatment should be done first, and records should be kept for easy inspection and disassembly.

The above are some common basic maintenance details for flexible cables . Although these details seem insignificant, if we pay attention to these details, we can avoid accidents and cause some losses to manufacturing, which would be more trouble than gain.
